<VV> door glass removal

Can anyone pass on tips on removing the drivers side door glass.  I have it completely disconnected.  I can't seem to move or twist enough to get It out of the door. 



The front bracket that is on the channel the glass goes in is broken off. 



Any tips would be appreciated.  Clarks has a sheet giving instructions but I  

hoped to correct the problem this week end.
