Rick's point is also important if you are using the 18amp John Deere
alternator on a Corvair flight engine. This is the alternator used by the
majority of the Corvair flight crowd. The amp draw of all your flight
electronics add up quick.

Aircraft Spruce sells the 4509 Incandescent (100W) for 7.95 ea, but a
longer lasting choice is the Halogen 4509Q for 19.95, as they last much
longer and draw less current for the same wattage. If you don't think that
is important, a 100W bulb in a 14 Volt system should draw just over 7 amps.
Each bulb. A factor if you have a standard 35 Amp generator or alternator,
and old wiring........
