Did you clean and paint the metal while the windshield was out ? Late model
windshields do not use a rubber gasket, they use a special sticky rolled up
sealer, this stuff will stick to anything, you can get the sealer at most
auto parts stores. You unroll it into the metal channel where the windshield
goes and you use rubber spacer blocks on the bottom edge, you clean the
inside edge of the glass where the sealer will touch with alcohol, set the
bottom edge of the windshield onto the rubber blocks, they keep the bottom
of the glass from touching the metal, then CAREFULLY lay it back into the
channel. You want to make sure the windshield is centered because when it
contacks the rolled out sealer there is NO moving it, this is basicly what
holds the windshield in and seals it to the body, when it touches IT IS
THERE to remove it you will have to cut it out so make real sure it is going
where you want it before you let it touch the sealer! If you do everything
right it won`t leak, old seals dry out with age then they leak and the rust
starts. This is not a complete step by step but just a summary of what you
need to do. It would be best to get written instructions on the details.
Good luck John
