Hi Seth,

With respect to your note on finding room for an A/C condenser & Weber carbs in the engine compartment of your 1965 Corvair can I comment as follows:

The '1966' Corvair A/C Condenser installation I agree looks much better than the 1965 and earlier condenser installations, but as I understand it the 1966 A/C Condenser installation does not provide for very good engine cooling in the way that the earlier condenser designs did.

I understand that installing a condenser in the 1966 position will most certainly cause the engine to run hotter and as a result causes a faster rate of engine wear.

Mounting the A/C Condenser in the front of your Corvair provides the best cooling of all for your engine but takes away from the cars originality.

In the end I would retain the original 1965 Condenser (for best cooling) and forget installing the Webers. I guess its a matter of choosing between performance or staying cool in hot weather.

Mind you a front mounted Condenser would give you the best of both worlds but a non original Corvair.

Regards

"I will likely be adding Weber carbs to the motor in my 65 Monza Factory air car. (Already converted to a 1966 condenser.)"

"Has anybody run the Weber 3-barrels in the late model engine compartment with a factory 1966 A/C Condenser?"

"I could also change to a front-mounted condenser". "I am just beginning this effort. Plans could change."
