All: This is true, but there is a time delay while the alternator spins
down and stops. And the Alternator light is small and not very bright.
Racers use a big bright light in their line of site to say Fan belt is off,
you have 15 seconds to shut down before you fry the motor. Fourteen.
Thirteen .....
If you run hard, the kit Warren sells, which I believe was invented by Jim
Schardt many years ago, is a engine saver.

Assuming you're running a generator\alternator, should the belt come off the
system quits charging and the idiot light comes on.
