Look at page 12-27 in the 1965 Shop Manual. ?The outer lights are stop, tail & directional lamps. ?The inner are backing lamps. ?Also make sure you have the bulb with 2 contacts in the outer and the single in the inner, I don't think the park or tail lights would light if the bulbs are not in the correct place.
