Loud *and* noxious. It's also a bit of a death knell, at least in my
experience. The only time it ever went off in my Spyder (after a
stupid, long, flogging style contest of acceleration on I-581 one
night) it rasped until the engine cooled off, by which time I was
very much tired of that BBBZZZZZZZTTT!!! racket.

The next morning on the way to work, the Spyder spun a rod bearing,
and the following disassembly uncovered all manner and sorts of
hardcore overheating and detonation issues that required a rebuild
that took 6 weeks. Now, if that buzzer had sounded a bit earlier...
maybe... that's hindsight.

Surprised me, first time I'd ever actually heard the buzzer go off.

I don't do that top-end highway stuff anymore... ;)

The one in my Corsa ragtop now serves as a low oil pressure
warning. The ragtop no longer has a turbo engine in it (140 now)
so the buzzer is serving a more useful purpose IMHO.

And yes, it's just as loud and annoying as that buzzer in the
Spyder. It sure lets you know when it goes off.
