 When you READ  12.5 vdc with a METER.. there's NO LOAD   on the 
connections.... voltage stays high...
 
Pull the rear engine harness connector apart and clean.  Do the  same with 
Both battery cables at the battery.  and the ground strap on  the engine end.
 
 Then clean the Junction STUD [ little p red plastic  next to  battery..
 
  Most likely  one will "fix" your problem!
