<VV> Turbo Advance / Retard unit

I am considering purchasing an advance / retard unit for my 63 Spyder
distributor. I would like to get some comments both pro and con from you
people that have experience with it. I have only found it at our major east
coast vender. Are there other places it is available? I have read their
advertisement in their catalog and am wondering if it will give me the
performance boost (pun intended) they say it will.
