<VV> Identification Assistance

John Medley owns a '61 Oakland-built Monza sedan with PCV. It's a rare car
for sure since CA mandated PCV before any other state and we were pleased to
be able to document it for the Stock Corvair Group this summer at the
convention. Larry Claypool was surprised we saw one.
The top shroud of John's car has a small round hole between the embossed "3"
and "5". Does this match the description?

I believe the PCV system was first made standard on the 1963 models. Both my
1962s have a road draft tube, like the General intended. Only those crazy
Californians had PCV back then!

It is for 1961. The 1960 shroud has a thermostat mounting area for the
one thermostat that controls the fan intake, IIRC.
The 60 and 61 have no PCV system, just a road draft tube, so no hole in
the shroud for the crankcase vent tube. This is, however, the reason the
cylinder baffles are not symetric on earlies (and maybe lates also), as
there is a large hole in the right baffle for the draft tube style
crankcase vent.
