<VV> Basic Engine Rebuilding Guidelines

I have had several requests for pricing and details on the engine rebuilds.
Let me clarify some of the details.

1. I am located in Cottonwood, AZ which is about 90 miles due north of the
Phoenix metro area.
2. The price for the econo rebuild is $1295 exchange.
3. I have included a brief description of the service performed on the
rebuild.
4. I have a flatbed for transporting cars and am always looking for cores
and or complete parts cars within 500 miles of my locale.

BASIC ENGINE REBUILDING PROCEDURES

All rebuilds are tailor built to any customers specs. 

I do offer what I call econo rebuilds. These are great for weekend driver
type cars that usually will be driven less than 5000 miles per year which is
the majority of the cars and trucks currently functional. It was our finding
at Southwest Corvair that to spend $2500 on a car that was only worth $3000
did not make much sense. Customers wanted a more cost effective way of
eliminating blow by and oil drips. The goal with all engine rebuilds is to
achieve these two primary objectives, these are engine blow by and oil
leaks. The following list is what I do as a minimum.
Any engine can be upgraded from this basic procedure.

This is a list of what service I perform as well as the parts I install.

1. All cylinder heads are sent to a qualified machine shop and receive all
parts necessary to recondition.
2. All cylinder assemblies are cleaned, inspected and reconditioned using
ridge reamers, ball hone with new rings installed.
3. All rod journals are inspected with new rod bearings installed if the
crank quality will allow.
4. All 12 lifters are replaced.
5. A new fan blower bearing is installed
6. All new gaskets and o rings are installed.
7. The engine is run on a test stand for lifter adjustment and to check for
any other issues.
