Hi Joel,
I should be retired and on the coast by then so barring anything unforeseen,
include me in for support. Kathy and I have considerable experience helping
to organise fair-sized air shows so I think we could be of some assistance.
Just don't ask her to do t-shirts (it's a long story!).
Regards,
Bob

There is one possible upside to this.
We were asked several times in Ventura when we were going to put on a
Convention. And we gave the standard answer, "the vendors won't come, so it
can't be done". And I should note, that it's not a "can't come" situation,
vendors could do their thing at a Canadian Convention, they'd just have an
extra hurdle to overcome to do it.
But we did take note of the lack of vending at Ventura. It will never "go
away" in importance to a Convention, but it appears to be waning.
We've been talking about 2011, and thought if we came up with the most kick
ass Convention site EVER it might make up for reduced vendors.
What do you think of this as a site for a Convention....

and I'm not just blowin' smoke here. We just might be able to pull this
off.
So is 2011 spoken for? What do we have to do to make a proposal?
Regards,
Joel

Well let's face it gang the Corvair world, it is a changing!
I was recently looking through and reminiscing at the Convention issues of
years gone by. One major aspect of the Corvair world that has changed is the
Swap Meet itself. I can recall Swap Meets where you could buy just about
anything you wanted right there and right then! This is simply not the case
any more. The convention swap this year was no exception! "Palm Springs" and
or The GWFBT & SM is evolving into more a car show than anything else! I am
not really sure we can point the finger at a particular group or individual
for this change. It is simply is the way it has become. I for one and
totally opposed to the change but will attend and try to make the best of an
ever changing Corvair world.
Cordially,
Mark Aksamit
