<VV> Oil pressure idiot lite came on after

Would too much oil lite the lamp?  Oil chng this weekend combined w pressure wash across engine...140 engine w deep dish oil pan, and added 7 quarts.  Manual says standard is 4q + 1 pint for filter, and deeper pan needs around an extra q.  Oh yeah, I still have original dipstick so it doesn't reach all the way into pan.  I filled til it hit the full mark.  

Or...did my sender switch just decide to quit?
