<VV> 891 cam in a 95 HP?

Have a 95 HP engine that I am starting to rebuild.  Today two past presidents of our Derby City Corvair club helped me.  They got it all apart and we started looking at the cam.  It was a 891 cam in a bona-fide 95 HP RG motor!  Is this a mistake?  I always thought an 889 cam belonged in a 95 HP/PG.  Do I need to install a 891 cam or a 304 cam?  I would like good low end torgue, good fuel economy, and the ability to burn unleaded regular gas.  TIA  Ernie in Louisville
