Dan Neil wrote the copy for the piece in Time. He's an automotive writer 
based, I'm pretty certain, with the Los Angeles Times. He's mimicking 
the humor approach of Richard Porter, the author of the "50 Crap Cars" 
series [no, the Corvair did not make the book, but my beloved TR-7 and 
MGB both did. So, too, did the VW Beetle, the Yugo, the Porche 924, the 
Pacer and the Mustang II. There's a British version, too [he's a Brit], 
with a list of hapless British iron.
