<VV> Aluminum Corrosion

All,
I think we have all seen what Tim referred to as frosty corrosion on aluminum
heads, pistons, cases, etc. I guess my questions will get some subjective
answers but here goes.
At what point will aluminum corrosion be considered a serious enough problem
to just dispose of the parts? I imagine that corrosion on pistons would be
the most concern due to the beating they are expected to take.
I guess corrosion in the combustion chamber of heads could also be a concern.
I am assuming that the corrosion causes no structural issues on the
components other than possibly the pistons. Do you agree?
I further suspect that the issues with heads and cases would mostly be
limited to sealing surfaces. Has there been corrosion related issues between the
valve seats and aluminum?
Thanks in advance,
Doc
