Hi Pete,

If they will tell you the ZDDP PPM value for their oil, based on what  
I've read you're looking for about 1200 or so - definitely not under  
1000 for break in.  Royal Purple is said to be very good oil, so I'd  
imagine this is the case since they are recommending it for flat  
tappet break in.

For weight, 10W-30 is what Chevy recommended and I'd say is still the  
ideal weight for most Corvair engines.  The ZDDP issue trumps this,  
however, so if they don't have a 10W-30 with enough ZDDP I'd use  
another weight that does.
