He's also totally paralyzed and on a respirator... They've done every conceivable test ( spinal taps, blood work, CT scans, MRI, EEG & EMG ) and the best guess is Guillain-Barre Syndrome ( check out WebMD - I did ) which can be brought on by a gastro-intestinal virus ( which he had ) that results in the body's auto immune system attacking itself leading to the temporary paralysis of arms, legs or even the entire body. Evidently with GBS they diagnose it by ruling out everything else. The danger is that the longer he's paralyzed, the greater the chance of permanent nerve damage. As to why he's unconscious, they have no idea at this time. Please keep him in your thoughts & prayers.
