<VV> Glove box lock

Hi,

 Can someone tell me how to remove the tumbler from the glove box lock?  In
the 65 chassis manual it talks about the door and ignition locks but no info
how to remove the glove box cylinder.. I purchase a new lock cylinder.  My
understanding to key the  new cylinder is to insert the key and to file the
tumblers on both sides is this correct? Any info would be appreciated .
