The original mechanical fuel pump parts were removed and capped. Those parts are no longer with the car. Because its Sunday, and I am anxious, I was thinking of the quick fix, after some research I see that Advance Auto Parts has a Bosch electric fuel pump in stock for 34.99, which I guess is better than the spendy 245 way at Clark's.
I also see that they (Advance) carry the mechanical pump in two versions for the Corvair, interesting, I was given the impression that parts for the Corvair were scarce... (thats another topic)
So this lends me to ask, has anyone here had any experience with Advance Auto Parts replacement products, specifically the mechanical ones?
On the fence about going back to stock or sticking with electric, I realize both can be done simultaneously, with a kill switch, I suppose thats just personal preference.
I think I am going to, for know at least, with the electric, just so I can fire up this 69 monza convertible and drive it around the block to see what else I have to throw into it (lol). Finally a luke warm sunny day in Wisconsin.
