keeping in mind that the  " glas " part of fiberglas is glass fibers, but
there are many different bonding agents ... epoxy ( ies ) and polyesters are
2 main types.  Bondo is the ElCrapo stuff, Epoxy is much superior, and
usually much more expensive.

I  have no idea of the comparative effects of ethanol/methanol on epoxy vs
polyesters  but probably a big difference.
