Hi,
I know that we have discussed this issue on more that one occasion, but I want to make sure that I am attempting to correct the real cause of the problem. As I recall from previous discussions, if we can smell gasoline in the passenger compartment, the most likely causes are the gas cap, the hose between the filler and the gas tank, other(?) (front components). If we have a good air cleaner assembly and the good gaskets between the air cleaner assembly and carbs, we will most likely not have gasoline smell coming through the heater. For the record, the engine is a 65 140 hp in my 62 sedan. I am using a mechanical fuel pump, which does not appear to be leaking. No apparent fuel drips in the engine compartment.
Thanks for your thoughts.
