Our Corvair is a 1962 900 Series coupe (VIN: 20927O13324). The engine
number and suffix code is: T0321RD. Based upon what I can find in the
books I have obtained, this engine is not the original (which is not a
problem) but I am curious as to what year, model & horsepower it is, so
any information or guidance would be appreciated.
In the Corvair there are holes in the dash box lid that seem to be where
an emblem is mounted. I am guessing it is the same design of emblem that
is on the fenders, but regardless of which vendors catalog I look
through, I can't locate, even a used replacement. If any member has a
lead on where to obtain such an emblem, (if it even exists) or would be
willing to sell an emblem, I would also be appreciative. <unsnip>
Craig replies:
As I recall, the emblem isn't easily replaceable, but the entire glove box
lid is. There are specific designs for each year, '62 Monza's have a
checkerboard design. You should be able to locate and purchase an entire
door for about what an emblem would cost.
The RD engine id a '65 to '67 110hp engine originally with a manual
transmission; an excellent alternative motor for your car.
