I had just such a dune buggy years ago, except it was an early rear
suspension, not a late. Had a 150 Turbo motor, with a 3-speed stick no less.
The Corvair front and rear suspensions worked well with the springs thay
came with.
My buggy weighed 1650 lbs, an early vair weighs what 500 lbs more tops? I
thought it rode well except for one thing. When wound out in 1st to where
the boost kicked in, and slamming second, it could lift the front
wheels...........
In any event, I had 15 inch wheels in the back, and 13's in the front.
Looked good that way.
In any event, with the Corvair motor, it would go faster than you would
ever want one of them to go.............
One glitch in the way it was set up. The steering box wasn't located right
so turning radius was a lot one direction, and not enough in the other. Car
also had the Spyder dash mounted in it.

suppose a guy wants to build a buggy with corvair suspension on both ends.
it would be late suspension. how would he go about coming up with custom
springs that would ride decent on such a light vehicle? it would have a
110hp
powerglide powertrain with a commercial buggy body and frame kit. also it
would
be nice to maintain a reasonable road clearance height with 13 inch
corvair
wheels on both ends. any ideas?
does ken get this type of stuff done ?
