I've used the PPG Deltron paint system and REALLY like it. 2021 is the clear
I've used, but its been a few years now; maybe the 2042 has replaced it. Not
familar with the 3000. Price difference?

Subject: <VV> PPG paint advice
Getting ready to paint and have a question or two. Yesterday I went to the
paint store and priced out the materials for Beth's Evening Orchid Poly. The
base is DBC-SC DELTRON. The clear they reccomended is DIT DCU2042 clear.
Painting will be done in a paint shop but will not be heat dried, just air
dry. I dont know anything about this clear coat. Originally I had planed to
use 3000 clear but the paint dealer said if I really want the best product
PPG has to use the DCU2042 clear. I Would sure appreciate some advice on
which Clear would be the best for me. I guess what I need to know is what
makes the 2042 special. Feel free to reply on or off line .
Thanks
