In 1974, intercoolers were few and far between. So was fuel injection. So
was... well, you get the idea. Also, as a broke azz college student, I had to
make do with what I could get.
No idea how much fluid, but my 2.25 gallon Tapper Keg would go dry long
before I needed gas if I was flogging it.

Well, I used to run 13 seconds flat with a 140 head 180 with an SU carb!
Which netted about 17+ PSI with water/alcohol.
John,
You mean you actually used water/alcohol INJECTION instead of
intercooling?<GGGGGG> Any idea of how much injection fluid you used compared to the
amount of gasoline?
Billy Bruce ran the 1/4 mile at the NECC dragstrip (Lexington
Convention) in the 13 second range for FTD. His Corvair was turbocharged with a
beefed-up PG trans.
When Car Life mag tested Tom Keosababian's Bonneville record-setter
Corvair, they reported 13 second range for 1/4 mile run but that was with a
smaller turbo than the one Tom used for Bonneville.
