<VV> RE new fan technology

I have to confess, I don't have an engineering education; I'm reasonably  
intelligent, but-----will someone who has a better education than I do have a  
look at U.S. Patents 5934877 and 6702552 and explain to me just what this man is 
 talking about.  I've consulted the Web and found out a lot that I didn't  
know about mathematics but I can't see how his patent claims and the  
illustrations of the patents apply.
 If I could get an understanding, maybe I could draw up a fan with  improved 
efficiency for the 'Vairs.
