If you do any automotive painting, you might have a can of Prepsol on a shelf somewhere. It works OK for things like this if there's nothing else convenient on hand (no pun). If you don't paint, stop off at your local auto paint supplier and get a can of the stuff. It's not bad for cleaning off oil, grease, wax, boogers, whatever, and it doesn't leave anything behind when it dries.
