I think i got it now guys. only one of three "keepers" was stationary on the torque converter housing. The other two are not fixed. I see now that there are three brackets welded to the tc housing and that there is the keeper key nut that fits in the interior of each of these welded brackets. It seems to me that the if these "keepers" are supposed to be welded to the bracket and that the bolt threads through it drawing the flex plate into the TC. The threads on the bolts are fine, the holes in the flex plate have slight wear, and the two keepers are relatively mangled, like the all four square corners are worn and stripped. So much so that they do not conform to the bracket hole anymore. Sounds like a new flex plate and TC doesn't it?
