<VV> generator gas source (not corvair)

I worked for a major semiconductor company in Sillycorn Valley.  One plant I worked at had natural gas generators.  I always thought the gas pipes would break or the utility would shut the gas off during and after and earthquake, but they worked just fine in 1989.
