Hi Mike,

Just keep in mind that the max pressure is meant for a situation  
where the vehicle is close to the maximum weight the tire will bear -  
chances are your Corvair is well below that.  Since you have a good  
wear pattern now, I'd say you are very close to the optimum  
pressure.  Now, since the idea is to get a little better mileage,  
going up a couple pounds and seeing what the difference is sounds  
like a good plan, I just wanted to point out that from a traction  
perspective you appear to be at a good spot.
