Everything I have heard says the 140 PG engine is NOT a good match for an FC.I started to inquire about the situation after dropping #5 intake valve seat at five in the morning with ambient temp. around 35 degrees F. This was on an engine rebuilt about 3,000 miles before this happened. This on the way to the Corvair Palm Springs meet in 2007. Now I am running the same engine but with 1965 95HP heads. To and from Ventura I averaged 21 mpg but more importantly it was very reliable (about 1900 miles in 10 days) except for my fan bearing coming up out of the top cover. Sorry but I am done with 140's. I want reliability.
