<VV> Parts cleaning tank

Since it came up - for those of us without parts washers, another
solution for small stuff is a pot (I got a 6 quart pot at the thrift
store) and strainer. Use automatic dishwashing detergent and water,
bring the parts to a boil for about 10 minutes. This is a great way
to clean nuts and bolts. Be aware that it takes *all* the grease
off, you'll want to wipe the parts down with WD-40 or such afterwards
to keep them from rusting. Great way to prep for coatings too. I
think my next thrift store purchase will be a hot plate so I don't
have to use the kitchen at all (I don't have room for a stove yet).

I got this tip many years ago via an e-mail list, but I've forgotten
who posted it or where.

Yes, I know if this was a web forum I could post a bunch of photos
too, but I think most people know what a pot is :-)
