Dave,
    Do you mean the Dale unit?  I'd say it's a  good idea.  You gain in 
throttle response off idle as well as fuel economy  in street driving.  I suggest 
you read pages 150 and 151 in the Corvair  Basics Manual available from CORSA 
for a rather modest price.
That's why we wrote the Basics Manual.
