<VV> Carb update

Stephen,
I am in no way a carburetor master but I do know some basics come into play here.
First off, are you using an electric fuel pump? It sounds to me like you are. You mentioned gas was pouring into drivers side. The problem must be in the needle and seat/float adjustment. Could there be a small piece of dirt (or?) between the needle and seat not allowing the needle to "seat"? You mention gas on the left and right shrouds. Did you properly tighten both fuel inlet fittings at each carb (the large nuts) and then tighten both fuel lines? Also you mentioned you did not bolt the carbs down. This may have something to do with gas being on the shroud if there is so much gas pouring down the carbs. I suggest looking at the needles/seats/float drops and levels again. And don't work on cars at 3:00 AM.
Just my thoughts. I hope this is helpful.
