All you need is DISTANCE  and gallons consumed....after starting  with a FULL 
tank and Refilling!
 
GPS  sez....  345 miles........    Gas Pump  sez..... 12.4 gallons sold...
 
345 divided by 12.4   equals.....28.2  mpg!
 
so simple even a Corvair owner can do it! [ plagiarized!]   gggg
