I could stay busy working on other Corvairs around here but, I don't have
the time between a regular job and my onw Corvairs. I do some work on others
but usually break even. I have had more than one person ask about engine
rebuilds etc. and when you give them the price they don't understand. The
usual reference is a small block Chevy rebuild. I do not do shoddy work and
if they do not agree to do it my way I don't do it.
I am always willing to show or teach a Corvair owner how to do things but
most are not interested in working on the car themselves. Also if they are a
member of CORSA I am more likely to find time to help them.

It is good to see that I am not the only one frustrated by the lack of
mechanics for our Corvairs. I have virtually no skills at repairing cars and
have always relied on Ken Hand to keep me running. Because of circumstances,
that is not a option now. I agree that more mechanics need to be assured
that it is not difficult to work on Corvairs (so I am told).
I own my Corvair because I like driving a great looking car up and down
Woodward Ave. and it takes me back to 1961-1964 when I owned 2 Corvairs and
loved them.
