Am I to understand that the cable has already been replaced once?  Try a 
larger O ring?

Try spraying the offending area with brake clean and watch to see where is 
the origin of the leak.  A hair line crack in the tranny?  Do you know if it 
leaks all the time or only when the car has been parked for a few days?
