<VV> Alt (gen) warning light

Haven't posted for a while, so here goes:  62 Greenbrier, w/externally regulated alternator. Replaced regulator and alternator.  Dash light illuminates when ignition is switched on, goes out when engine starts.  When the RPMs pick up, light comes back on, flicker-flicker a bit, then on full.  Output at alternator is 14.39 volts at increased RPMs, but seems fully regulated.  Friend who also has a Greenie said "Yeah, mine does the same thing."  Before I replaced the alternator/regulator the light worked fine.  The old alternator crumped, bad bearing, etc.
