Ok, hopefully this will be an easy question...
In my '66 Corsa (originally a TURBO), I would like to use the top shroud
from a turbo motor on a 110hp that will be installed (this is so I dont have to
buy a different "fresh air" hose that goes through the firewall) - since the
turbo engine will go back in, eventually.
Will it work? I could go check, but the turbo engine is pretty burried
right now.
Thanks,

Eric - I'm pretty sure it should work ok. The front of the shroud, where the
oil cooler is located, is cutoff on the 140/150/180 motors to allow a 12
plate cooler underneath. Those motors have a different shaped access cover. You
could probably fab up some type of cover to close it off so that the air will
go through your 8-plate cooler (unless your 110 motor was from an Air Cond.
car, those had 12 plates). Also, their are a couple of holes in the shroud
for the choke mechanisms to pass through up to the carbs. I checked a 180 top
shroud I had sitting in the garage and those holes are there, so you are okay.
I can't say why, but I would guess that all the late shrouds are punched
from the same blank, and those holes are included. The 180 had the slot for the
oil drain and the 140 shroud has a couple of more cuts for the secondary carb
bases. Both the 140 and 180 shrouds have those extra tabs over the oil
cooler lopped off. It is easy to use a 12 plate cooler on a 110, by the way, just
trim off the tips of the upper shroud and use the 140-180 cover - although
there is a difference underneath the cooler as well, a bit more cutting is
needed. As you noted on your request, the turbos use a different feed hole for
the cold blend air so the hose is almost unique! Actually later A/C cars, at
several I have seen, use the short, left side feed as well. - Seth
