if a stud  ,upper or lower comes out, i remove the nut or rocker bolt  and 
reinstall it with loctite , after a good cleaning of threads .i use 2 old  
headnuts back to back.  the stud should stay ok after that.if not ,get  another 
one, or repair the block threads with a helicoil.
be sure the stud or coil  does not move in too far! 
i like to  look at the threads by the block  after final  installation of the 
heads anyhow..all should look the same.
