I'm one that favors requiring CORSA membership for local membership. I've
also heard all of the "reasons" why it shouldn't be required. I know that
chapters pay a fee for not having 100% CORSA membership and I know there are
chapters that actually cheat to save that $20. $20 is pretty cheap for insurance
coverage.
Bottom line is that EVERYONE attending a local chapter meeting or event is
receiving a financial benefit from CORSA. It seems reasonable that everyone
should also be responsible to provide that benefit. Other car clubs offer much
less for similar dues amounts and some charge more for less.
How many members of VV are CORSA members? VV is made possible by CORSA. Sure
it could be set up on Yahoo or somewhere else, but it's not. Anyone can log
into to VV and ask a question and get many Corvair experts to answer it for
them. How's that for a benefit? Isn't that worth something? I think so and I'll
continue to push for every Corvair owner to join CORSA and a local chapter.
Yes, my opinion is biased,
