<VV> misfire problem

sounds like maybe a large vacuum leak to me?  check the hoses at the  base of 
the carbs to balance tube?
are the carbs tight to the heads?  check for leaks with propane  enrichment , 
aiming an UNLIT torch turned on at those areas with the engine  running ..if 
you find an area that changes the way the engine runs...bingo you  found it!
