<VV> 64 leaf spring bolts size

3/8-24 is the factory thread. The Clark's replacement is 3/8-16.  Grade 
eight. A nylock style nut can be used instead of cotter pin, but I 
drilled my own bolts with good results.

In a pinch, you can remove the spring to drive home. I did this several 
times, once from VA Beach to Richmond, over 100 miles. The other time 
was in my 64 sedan, carpooling to work. Drove 40 miles with 5 people! 
Yes, the rear is VERY low to the ground, as the suspension is riding on 
the stops. But, it does work.
