<VV> 1965 starting problem

If I let my wife's 65 140 convertible sit for any time , week or two, the only way to get it going again is to pull the air filter and pour some gas into each carb.  Somethimes it starts and runs immediately but sometimes it takes a couple of tries.  Do I have a float problem or what else might cause this.
