  One greatest shortcomings of eBay was the incursion of the 
  scammers. The whole notion of "I'll send you a money order 
  for x amount and you send back the difference" along with 
  a whole host of other silly schemes will be tremendously 
  reduced by the switch to paypal only.  

  Many auctions use the "paypal account holder only" to combat 
  the dishonest/fictitious buyer. All this aside, viewing eBay solely 
  on the basis of a reduction in sales for Corvair, is like looking at 
  wal-mart and AA battery sales alone.  

  It reminds me of discussion which pops up here in vv about a 
  digital issue of the communiqué. Dial-up [and wheelbarrows] 
  are the emerging technology for some :))
