Jamie,
Bob D. mentioned the idea to me the other night. I like it but there are a lot of people at a convention so I thought maybe creating a set of guest technicians and have everyone watch them might be more manageable. People like Larry Claypool, Ken Hand, Bob Coffin, etc. Then your needs for cars could be known in advance and you could have a set already to go when the competition begins. I think Bob volunteered his entire fleet... although I think he's a little concerned about my idea to put sand in one of the gas tanks and create a hydraulic lock-up with gasoline in another. :)

The idea was researched and it was decided liability would be a problem with an event such as this. It was then suggested by one of our members that Plymouth used to have an engine diagnostic contest where teams of two would be provided cars that the engines had been tampered with to make them have a certain problem. Then the teams would be timed to see how long it took to diagnose the problem and fix it. I am wondering if there would be enough interest to hold such a contest as this at the 2010 Convention. Let me know your ideas and thoughts on this. Thanks
