Matt,

Removal of seat belts has NEVER been required, or expected. The rules
clearly state that ANY seat belts, be they original, aftermarket, GM
correct, etc. are to be overlooked, with the exception (of course) of
condition. All are free to install seat belts into any car, regardless of
whether they were even available or not, and brand or authenticity has
nothing to do with it. Just condition, like any other component of the car,
will be appropriately judged.
