<VV> Requirement of seat belts by CORSA for events / ShoulderBelts

I have never entered into any show bigger than a local "Show & Shine". I
have also never read the rules for Concourse level shows.

However, would it not be prudent for officials to look past the addition of
a safety item like seatbelts on a car? Could an addendum be written to NOT
take off points for a neatly installed set of seatbelts that properly match
the interior of a car or truck? Chevrolet offered seatbelts as an option
well before 1960. Couldn't a concourse car be fitted with a proper replica
set?

I'd like to hear opinions from you Concourse people.

I personally am not worried about Concourse rules because my 63 Spyder Vert
is a clone and daily Driver with an OK pain job. It will NEVER be concourse
quality. I installed new seat belts in all four seating positions before I
ever drove my car. I also require riders to wear them. In fact, I wore them
back in the early 70's ever since the first time I started to drive.

As for shoulder belts, I have an early convertible. There is no attachment
point that will allow the shoulder harness to be at the proper angle to not
compress the spine on an impact. A roll bar would give me one but I don't
want to install one in my street car.

Now there's a product for a Corvair vendor - a shoulder belt kit,
complete with roof anchor, etc.

 Therein lies the challenge....

Something for those that do not want to , cannot afford the welding, etc.
required..

Something that anchors the shoulder belt above the shoulders to prevent
compression.

Many new Vert seats have built in belts....

But many will want the safety of the belt and the ability to remove for
shows...????
