you remember the 1951 Kaiser?)
Scotty from Hollyweird
Scotty,
Reminds me that I installed seat belts in my first 2 cars, the 1951
Hudson Hornet and the 1958 Plymouth Convertible. People used to ask me if I
"went racing" suspecting that's why I needed seat belts. I also installed a
child's belt harness in the back of our first Corvair (1965 Monza) so little Jim
could stand up, sit or lie down but was protected from sudden impacts. That
lasted for a few years until the little rascal figured out how to unbuckle
himself and showed up one day standing between the front seats thereby shocking
the h**l out of his poor mother who was driving at the time.
But Jim got the message and later refused to drive unless EVERYBODY in
his car (including his mother) was wearing a seat belt.
Thanks for reminding me,
Frank "remembering" Burkhard
